Okay, next from our little series about Social Network Applications is Last.fm.
I am a music junkie. I spent my whole day listening to music. When I get up, I turn the radio on. I listen to music when I go to university/work. I listen to music at work. When I come home, I turn my iTunes on and it plays until I go to bed. The idea to share what I am listening to is very obvious.
name: Last.fm (http://www.lastfm.com)
found: 2002
member: a lot
sense: Yes!
Last.fm is the eldorado for everybody who likes listen to music. You find, among a huge number of free tracks that you can listen to, a big music loving community and there is different things you can do.
You might only register for listening to the free radio stations, that you choose while typing a keyword into the search or by choosing a members station. You may also let last.fm “scrobble” your songs. Scrobble means that you send informations about songs, you heard on your iTunes for example, up to Last.fm. They generate lists and your own personal radio station. You may find people with the same taste of music, make them your friends and do the community thing. And then you may just simply explore the collections of thousands of people from all over the world. You get new inspirations, find some rare titles and get lost in music.
getting started:
Register on Lastfm.com with a username, password and an email address. Get the Last.fm Scrobbler if you want to share your music. Get only a player just for listening to the radio stations (that works in a simple browser window too).

Theres a WordPress-Plugin that shows a number of songs that you were listening to on Last.fm. I believe there are hundreds of plugins for other weblog systems too.
